Job summary

Choice Hotels International in Bloomington, IN is seeking a Steward to maintain the cleanliness and sanitization of all food and beverage outlets, kitchen, and dining areas. You will manage setup and takedown of kitchen and outlet spaces, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

This role requires at least one year of supervisory stewardship experience in full‑service hospitality, strong communication, and the ability to multitask under pressure in a fast‑paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year management experience in full-service stewarding operations.
• 3 years experience in hotel food and beverage.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in hospitality preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork.
• Able to resolve conflicts between guests, supervisor and employee.
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
• Basic computer skills in MS Office, reservation systems, and point of sales systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the cleanliness of the food and beverage operations.
• Sweeping and mopping the entire kitchen, dish areas, restaurant line, and Banquet Pantry areas, and walk-in coolers.
• Washing and clearing counters, shelves, and queens.
• Washing dish area and kitchen mats.
• Assisting the cafeteria attendant and cooks with set-up and breakdown and cleanliness of cafeteria.
• Monitoring trash and recycling levels in all areas, removing when needed.
• Washing pots and pans and returning them to their proper place after cleaning.
• Following all safety and security procedures.
• Maintaining supply of clean china, glassware, silverware, etc.
