Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Key West seeks an Accountant to lead financial activities for the property's hotel operations. You will focus on profitability, accurate reporting, and internal controls, while ensuring compliance with all regulations and safeguarding owner assets.

The role requires solid hotel accounting experience, strong Excel and hotel systems proficiency, and ability to manage multiple financial processes and deadlines in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of related hotel accounting experience or a 4-year degree with accounting/finance concentration and 2 years of experience.
• Proficiency in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing; familiarity with hotel-specific systems.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage and communicate cash flow issues and prepare cash flow statements.
• Monitor hotel revenues and expenses and analyze variances; propose improvements to management.
• Assist in capital planning; evaluate ROI for capital improvements and ensure proper upkeep.
• Ensure regulatory licenses, leases, contracts and taxes are compliant and properly executed.
• Analyze financial data to advise management on achieving financial objectives.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain internal financial controls.
• Develop and deliver accounting training and support staff growth.
• Maintain and improve daily/weekly/monthly/annual financial reporting workflows.
• Ensure accurate daily operating reports and adherence to deadlines.
