Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking an Accountant for the Southernmost Beach Resort in Key West. You will lead hotel finance operations, focusing on profitability, timely reporting, internal controls, and compliance with complex regulations.

You will safeguard owner assets while driving efficiency and accuracy in daily financial activities. Responsibilities include cash flow management, variance analysis, capital planning support, and monthly/annual reporting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive hotel accounting experience or a 4-year degree with an accounting/finance concentration and a minimum of 2 years of related progressive experience.
• Proficiency in Windows, Excel, and hotel-specific systems.
• Long hours sometimes required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage cash flow statements, receivables, payables, cash balances and deposits with accuracy and timeliness.
• Monitor hotel revenues and expenses and analyze variances to budget or prior year.
• Assist in capital planning and bid processes; evaluate scope of work and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with licenses, permits, leases and contracts; enforce regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial data to advise management on hotel financial objectives.
• Maintain timely balance sheet reconciliations and internal controls.
• Train accounting staff and develop internal competencies.
• Prepare financial reports and manage reporting deadlines across daily, monthly, and annual cycles.
