Job summary

The Capitol District Marriott in Omaha is seeking a Shuttle Driver/Bell-person to warmly escort guests, assist with luggage, and acquaint them with their rooms. You will drive guests to destinations, manage luggage, and maintain a professional appearance.

Shifts include evenings (7PM-1AM / 8PM-2AM) with tips and daily responsibilities for guest service. Applicants should have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and the ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

Qualifications

• Has a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to read English to use luggage tags and rooming lists.
• Capable of lifting up to 45 lbs and handling luggage.
• Able to stand, walk, or sit for long periods while performing duties.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and assist with luggage.
• Transport guests to destinations in company van.
• Assist guests with luggage from cars to bell carts.
• Answer guest questions with clear information and courtesy.
• Maintain a professional image and ensure vehicle readiness and cleanliness.

As a Shuttle Driver/Bell-person at the Omaha Marriott Downtown, you'll warmly escort guests to and from their accommodations, assist with luggage, and ensure they are fully acquainted with their room and its features, in a friendly and courteous manner.

What will you be doing?

• Greet guests with friendly and sincere welcome.
• Retrieve guest items from cars, busses, vans, and carts. Grasp, lift, carry and/or load luggage and packages onto a bell cart to transport items throughout hotel to designated room. Navigate bell cart through public areas, guest room corridors and to elevators.
• Drive guests to approved destinations in company van and perform other driving errands as assigned.
• Listen and respond to guest inquires. Answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information.
• Always maintain a professional image while at work.
• Monitor company van maintenance requirements and communicate needs to management.
• Maintain all cleanliness and sanitation along with personal hygiene.
• Other duties as assigned.

What do you bring to the role?

• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to understand and follow written and or verbal instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally in English.
• Ability to read English language sufficiently to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists.
• Ability to grasp, lift, and or carry or otherwise move packages and boxes and luggage up to 45lbs continuously throughout shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, and or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.
• Sufficient manual dexterity in one hand to be able to load and unload luggage.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances on property.
