Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Security Officer to protect guests, employees and property across our hotel properties. The role encompasses fire prevention, safety checks and incident resolution to uphold Sonesta’s safety standards.

The position requires vigilance, strong communication, and the ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. You will collaborate with hotel teams to maintain a secure environment and respond promptly to safety

Qualifications

• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Adhere to grooming standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and run as needed.
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in all weather conditions.
• Understand and execute safety and emergency procedures (fire, crowd control, etc.).
• Ability to understand and operate emergency equipment.
• Ability to read and write effectively.
• Able to interact with guests and colleagues in a courteous manner.
• Willing to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta service per the G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill a passion for customer service.
• Perform hotel security functions including fire prevention and safety checks.
• Investigate thefts, accidents and other incidents on the property.
• Prevent losses of company and guest property due to theft, burglary or other crime.
• Ensure a safe environment for guests and employees.
• Assist guests and colleagues on security and safety inquiries.
• Resolve guest and employee safety concerns.
• Conduct floor patrols and secure facilities during non-operating hours.
• Monitor activities to deter theft and crime.
• Complete reports for incidents and accidents.
• Report deficiencies to appropriate departments for immediate repair.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
