Job summary

Sonesta Hotels International Corporation is seeking a Security Officer for the Denver Downtown property. The role covers guest, employee, and visitor safety, asset protection, and compliance with corporate guidelines and laws.

The position is non-exempt, full-time, with a pay range of $21.00 to $22.00 per hour and a deadline of November 7, 2026. The duties include patrols, incident reporting, fire prevention, and assisting with security inquiries, while ensuring a safe environment and adherence

Qualifications

• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Ability to adhere to the property's grooming standards.
• Ability to stand and walk on a continuous basis, and run as warranted.
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle during all hours and in all weather conditions.
• Ability to understand and execute all safety and emergency procedures.
• Ability to understand and operate emergency equipment.
• Ability to lift, carry, and store approximately 50 lbs.
• Ability to lift and move an immobilized adult in emergencies.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb stairs/ladder, and reach.
• Ability to push/pull approximately 75 lbs.
• Ability to work in extreme temperature.
• Ability to use communication devices (phones/radios/beepers).
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and employees.
• Ability to interact with guests and colleagues in a courteous manner.
• Ability to read and write effectively.
• Ability to sustain high-volume guest interaction.
• Must work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest interactions and instill a passion for customer service.
• Perform standard hotel security functions including fire prevention and safety checks.
• Investigate thefts, accidents, and incidents on the property.
• Prevent losses of company and guest property due to criminal activity.
• Maintain a safe and tranquil environment for guests and staff.
• Assist guests and colleagues with security and safety inquiries.
• Resolve guest and employee complaints or requests.
• Conduct floor patrols and secure facilities during non-operating hours.
• Monitor activities to detect theft and other crimes.
• Complete incident forms and reports within the premises.
• Report deficiencies to appropriate departments for repair.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
