Job summary

Middletown-Hotel-Management is seeking a Sales Manager dedicated to increasing hotel profitability through aggressive sales initiatives and effective leadership of room, meeting space, and package sales.

The role requires independent outreach, market targeting, and coordination with departments to ensure commitments are delivered. Occasional travel for seminars and client entertainment is expected.

Qualifications

• The candidate must demonstrate proven sales skills, prospecting ability, and strong negotiation.
• Ability to travel to local and national events/seminars as needed.

Responsibilities

• Sells all product lines of the hotel including rooms, meeting spaces, and packages.
• Maximize revenue through appropriate negotiations with customer.
• Solicits business, qualifies their needs.
• Completes in-house forms (room blocks, BEOs, rooming lists) and coordinates with departments to fulfill commitments.
• Maintains proper documentation of records and files for follow up and future reference.
• Participates in sales blitzes.
• Solicits accounts within the market segment via outside solicitation and telephone solicitation; targets viable accounts.
• Attends weekly Sales Department meetings.
• Provides Saturday office coverage (if necessary).
• Shows clients the hotel facilities by giving tours of the property.
• Meets budget and booking goals monthly.
• Attends sales seminars including out-of-state events.
• Entertains clients to solicit business by taking them to breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc.
• Maintains a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and rules.
• Additional duties as required.
