Job summary

The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, VA is seeking a Sales Manager to drive revenue within our wedding and group market. This results-driven role requires strong client relations and a service-first approach.

You will qualify accounts, respond to RFPs, negotiate terms, and coordinate with the events team to convert inquiries into booked experiences. The position offers a fast-paced environment and opportunities to grow with the property.

Qualifications

• College degree; hospitality preferred, but not required.
• Basic Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Must be willing to assist operational departments during high traffic events and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Qualify accounts and group bookings to ensure a good match for The Jefferson and the client.
• Research local companies and solicit for small group bookings.
• Respond to requests for proposal in a timely and professional manner to close business.
• Negotiate room blocks, function space, rates, concessions and contract terms.
• Conduct site inspections, on-site entertainment and outside sales calls to close bookings.
• Input all sales activities and bookings into the sales system for handoff to events team.
• Cultivate relationships with booking contacts, decision makers and referral sources.
• Exhibit exceptional guest services in public spaces and in communications with team and vendors.
