Job summary

The Public Spaces Attendant (Custodian) at J&P Hospitality/Asset Management is responsible for keeping the hotel's public areas, laundry facilities, and exterior spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for guests and staff.

Based on experience, this on-site role in Smyrna, TN offers $12.00–$15.00 per hour. A high school diploma is preferred, and English proficiency plus legal work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Prior custodial/maintenance or housekeeping experience is a plus but not required.
• Employment is contingent on legal work status in the United States (E-Verify).

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize public areas including lobbies, restrooms, hallways, stairwells and shared spaces.
• Wash, dry, and fold laundry to support housekeeping operations.
• Assist with preparing guest rooms for check-in with the housekeeping team.
• Maintain exterior grounds: pick up trash, empty cans, sweep entryways, and manage dumpster area.
• Monitor areas for safety hazards and report issues to the General Manager.
• Respond to emergencies (alarms, leaks, outages) promptly and safely.
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing bulbs or resetting breakers.
