Job summary

J&P Hospitality Management, LLC is seeking a Public Spaces Attendant (Custodian) to maintain the hotel’s public areas, laundry facilities, and exterior grounds, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and guest comfort.

This part-time, non-exempt role reports to the General Manager and requires following written and verbal English instructions, reliability, and readiness to support housekeeping and safety tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial, maintenance, or housekeeping experience a plus, but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
• Employment is subject to E-Verify verification.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all public areas, including lobbies, restrooms, hallways, stairwells, and other shared spaces.
• Wash, dry, and fold laundry as needed to support housekeeping operations.
• Assist with preparing guest rooms for check-in by supporting the housekeeping team.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of exterior grounds (e.g., picking up trash, emptying trash cans, clearing walkways, cleaning dumpster area, sweeping entryways).
• Monitor common areas for safety hazards and report issues to the General Manager.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including fire alarms, water leaks, electrical outages, or other urgent facility needs.
• Use cleaning products and tools safely and in accordance with training and safety guidelines.
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, or resetting breakers as trained
