Job summary

The Grand Hyatt San Antonio is seeking a Hotel Baker/Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. You will prepare pastry products according to pastry shop standards and assist higher level bakers in daily production.

In a fast-paced hotel environment, you will handle multiple pastry tasks, maintain clean work areas, follow safety guidelines, and accept other duties as assigned by the Chef. A flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a commercial baking/pastry operation preferred.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and tools preferred.
• Highly responsible and reliable.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• The Hotel Baker/Pastry Cook prepares pastry products as trained in accordance to pastry shop standards and assists higher level bakers.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Chef.
