Job summary

DoubleTree by Hilton Harrisonburg is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in daily hotel operations and guest satisfaction.

You will oversee front desk, housekeeping, F&B, maintenance, and safety, while guiding department heads, managing budgets, and driving service excellence. This leadership role requires strong communication, hiring, training, and problem-solving skills to foster a high-performance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent experience in hotel management may be considered.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hospitality experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of hotel financials, budgeting, and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily hotel operations across departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Lead recruitment, training, and staff development for department heads.
• Manage guest services, check-in/out, and guest feedback.
• Assist in budgeting, revenue tracking, and cost control initiatives.
• Collaborate with sales/marketing to drive group bookings and events.
• Ensure health, safety, and compliance with regulations; conduct audits.
• Act as second-in-command to the General Manager and support strategic planning.
