Job summary

Olympia Hospitality in Vermont is seeking a Maintenance Person to keep our hotel facilities running smoothly, performing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment. You will diagnose issues, respond to guest requests, coordinate with contractors, and help with renovations, while upholding safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of general building maintenance or equivalent in a trade.
• Solid experience performing repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen and laundry equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, staff, and management, and prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact on operations.
• Conduct regular inspections and testing of building systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, elevators, and generators, to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, maintenance activities, and equipment performance to facilitate tracking and reporting.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations such as power outages, plumbing leaks, and other critical incidents, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
• Coordinate with other departments and external contractors as needed to address emergency repairs and ensure guest safety and satisfaction.
• Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks to upkeep the appearance and functionality of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house facilities.
• Assist with renovations, remodeling projects, and equipment upgrades to enhance the overall guest experience and maintain the competitiveness of our property.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures related to maintenance operations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and safety inspections.
