Job summary

Olympia Hospitality is seeking a Maintenance Person to keep our hotel systems running smoothly. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and handle repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen and laundry equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of general building maintenance or equivalent in a trade profession.
• Vocational School Certification preferred.
• Solid experience performing repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen and laundry equipment.
• General carpentry skills; knowledge and use of basic hand and power tools required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and machinery to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to identify issues and repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, staff, and management and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, elevators and generators, for safety and compliance.
• Maintain records of inspections and maintenance activities for tracking and reporting.
• Coordinate with other departments and external contractors for emergency repairs and guest safety.
• Perform general repairs to upkeep guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
