Job summary

Valor is seeking a Maintenance Technician to respond to guest requests and keep hotel systems running smoothly. The role focuses on preventive maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler, and safety systems, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.

You will perform rounds, take measurements, and assist with special projects, reporting issues promptly to management and maintaining logs for shift changes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade courses in building maintenance are a plus.
• Two years of prior experience in building maintenance and construction.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests courteously and promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment (kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical, guest rooms).
• Take water samples and monitor chemical levels in boiler loops and cooling towers.
• Operate equipment and maintain domestic hot/cold water systems and electrical gear.
• Keep engineering spaces clean and perform daily maintenance tasks.
• Make rounds to ensure everything is in working order and log readings.
• Handle emergencies such as fires, power failures, and security threats.
