Qualifications

  • Must have Universal CFC/R-410A certification and basic coursework in HVAC.
  • Prior hotel experience is a plus and reliable transportation is required.

The Maintenance Mechanic will perform operations, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment within the facility, while acquiring skills and knowledge to complete the training required to obtain licenses. The hours for this position are 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM - must be able to work weekends, Washington, DC. Pay rate $18-$22 depending on experience.

The typical day will include:

  1. Daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of systems and associated equipment
  2. Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis
  3. Maintain equipment to industry standards
  4. Diagnose and repair simple HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems as required and/or as assigned by supervisor
  5. Assist and support subcontractors with installation and/or repair of equipment and hardware
  6. Interface with building managers and other client representatives to ensure satisfaction
  7. Complete reports on system status as directed by supervisor
  8. Run wiring, cabling, ductwork, and mount equipment according to specifications
  9. Place or remove systems and equipment as directed
  10. Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory for timely work completion
  11. Perform other duties as assigned
  12. Must be available to work all shifts and be on call 24/7
  13. Basic coursework in electrical and HVAC systems
  14. Universal CFC/R-410A certification
  15. Prior hotel experience is a plus
  16. Reliable transportation
  17. Able to lift up to 60 pounds
  18. Capable of ascending ladders up to 30 feet
  19. Possess excellent customer service skills
