Job summary

Hampton Inn is seeking a Chief Maintenance Engineer to oversee maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability and guest satisfaction. You will lead the preventative maintenance program, manage schedules, and supervise safety and records across the property.

The role requires hands-on expertise in hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, plus strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate with the GM and department heads.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of related hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
• Ability to perform mid-level troubleshooting of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen, pool, and HVAC systems.
• CPO and HVAC certifications are helpful.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle fast-paced environments and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and modify programs for preventative maintenance of the property, grounds and equipment.
• Establish maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs to minimize disruption.
• Provide prompt, professional service to guests and staff for maintenance needs.
• Manage equipment inventory and coordinate with GM on orders.
• Maintain and test emergency and security systems and procedures.
• Perform daily inspections to ensure standards across the property.
• Keep records of plant and equipment repair/service activities.
• Prepare reports for the Housekeeping Manager and GM.
• Discuss maintenance status with GM/Owners and department heads.
• Ensure safety measures and respond to hazards.
• Develop training checklists for maintenance areas.
