Job summary

Hampton Inn & Suites Hammond is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering Department and oversee the maintenance, safety, and overall physical condition of the hotel.

This hands-on leadership role requires supervising the engineering team, implementing preventative maintenance, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and brand requirements to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leader with hotel maintenance experience.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to develop and manage preventative maintenance programs.
• Proven supervisory and staff development capabilities.
• Ability to coordinate with vendors and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily Engineering and Maintenance operations.
• Supervise, train, coach, and develop Engineering Team members.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs and schedules.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and facilities.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and life-safety systems.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and critical equipment issues.
• Prioritize and manage maintenance work orders with timely completion.
• Maintain engineering logs, inspection records and equipment documentation.
• Monitor building systems and manage tools, inventory, and supplies.
• Coordinate vendors, contractors, inspections, and service providers.
• Assist with budgeting, purchasing, and department planning.
• Support property improvement projects and capital replacements.
• Ensure facilities meet brand standards, safety requirements and guest expectations.
