Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Milwaukee Downtown is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to uphold the MCR Universal Role Standards across guest areas and back‑of‑house operations. The position emphasizes safety, cleanliness, teamwork and proactive maintenance to ensure high guest satisfaction.

You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to repair requests, and participate in daily tours and aggressive housekeeping standards to support flawless hotel operations and an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

• Technical, Trade or Vocational school degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of work-related experience in a commercial facility, hospitality or related field preferred.
• Can-Do Attitude: Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to Follow Guidelines: Must be able to understand and follow established guidelines and procedures.
• Handle Pace and Pressure: Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Listening, Conflict Resolution: Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving issues.
• Communication Skills: Must be able to convey information clearly.
• Hospitality and Guest Service: Must have a desire to serve all guests.
• Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older to perform this job.
• Schedule and Travel: Varied schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Clock-in/Out: Arrive on time and clock in/out; avoid working off the clock.
• Breaks: Clock in/out for breaks at scheduled times.
• Call Outs: Provide sufficient notice when calling out.

Responsibilities

• Repair Requests: Respond to all guest repair requests and document completion via the electronic work order system.
• Preventative Maintenance Process: Keep room and public space PM work up to date and on schedule.
• Safety and Health Codes: Follow safety measures; ensure pool and spa health codes; report emergencies to supervisor/GM.
• Full Property Walks: Conduct walks at shift start and end; note and complete maintenance needs.
• Maintenance Area Upkeep: Keep maintenance areas clean and organized during shift and before departure.
