Job summary

Element by Westin in Wood-Ridge, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Hotel Engineer to keep guest rooms and public areas operating at peak performance. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance while delivering courteous service to guests and supporting ongoing property upkeep.

The role requires hands-on maintenance skills in general trades, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks across shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Maintenance Technician in hotels or similar facilities.
• Solid working knowledge of general trades including carpentry, painting and electrical systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to stay composed under pressure.
• Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and navigate stairs and ladders.
• High school diploma or equivalent with flexible shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Keep guest rooms and public areas operating at peak performance for comfort, safety and satisfaction.
• Use technical know-how to diagnose and repair issues quickly and effectively.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance across facilities and grounds.
• Deliver five-star courteous service and respond promptly to guest requests.
• Tackle diverse operational tasks to keep the property shining.
