Job summary

Element by Westin in Wood-Ridge, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Hotel Engineer to keep guest rooms and public areas operating at peak performance. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance while delivering courteous service to guests and supporting ongoing property upkeep.

The role requires hands-on maintenance skills in general trades, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks across shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Maintenance Technician in hotels or similar facilities.
• Solid working knowledge of general trades including carpentry, painting and electrical systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to stay composed under pressure.
• Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and navigate stairs and ladders.
• High school diploma or equivalent with flexible shift availability.

• Experience: Proven background as a Maintenance Technician in a hotel,apartment complex,residential living facility,or similar environment (Required).
• Technical Know-How: Solid working knowledge of general trades,including carpentry,painting,and electrical systems.
• Communication & Composure: Excellent communication skills,a professional demeanor,and the ability to thrive under pressure—both independently and as part of a team.
• Sharp Eye: Outstanding visual observation abilities to spot and solve issues before they arise.
• Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.,stoop,bend,climb ladders,and navigate stairs with ease.
