Job summary

JB Duke Hotel in Durham, NC is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to maintain the property's systems and aesthetics on a full-time basis. You will handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks to keep the hotel in excellent condition and ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a maintenance engineer or repairman.
• Engineering degree, certification, or training is a plus.
• Ability to read drawings and estimate material needs.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Strong communication skills (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe environment by responding to maintenance requests.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks.
• Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing and electrical systems.
• Inspect and repair HVAC systems, toilets, sinks, pipelines, and fixtures.
• Check electrical systems such as refrigeration controls, televisions, and lighting.
• Repair and maintain furniture and structures.
• Complete painting projects and finishing work.
• Collaborate on renovation and improvement projects.
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.
