The Lodge at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Technician to troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry issues, and to perform preventive maintenance to keep the property in top condition.

This role requires 1–3 years of maintenance experience, ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and the capacity to read drawings and use basic repair tools. Weekend/holiday availability is required, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a maintenance engineer or repairman in a hotel or high-volume environment.
• Ability to read basic drawings and specifications and estimate material needs.
• Comfort lifting up to 75 pounds and performing physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe environment for employees and guests by responding to maintenance requests.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing and electrical systems.
• Inspect and minor repairs to HVAC systems, fixtures, and furniture.
• Complete painting, wallpaper repair, and finishing work; assist renovations as needed.
