Job summary

McKibbon Hospitality is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Engineer in Tampa to support the hotel’s operations. You will manage plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems, including pool maintenance, while upholding safety and guest satisfaction standards.

Reporting to the General Manager and Chief Engineer, you will train staff, handle maintenance requests, and ensure preventive maintenance practices are followed to keep the property safe and well-kept.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in maintenance, preferably in a hotel or apartment environment.
• Ability to communicate operational activities with management engineers and supervisors.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance methods and techniques for maintaining equipment.
• Ability to perform tests to check normal operation of hotel equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and monitor the operations and functions of the interior and exterior areas of the property.
• Follow McKibbon Guiding Principles in daily duties to protect assets, associates, and guests.
• Promote enhanced guest satisfaction through reliable maintenance and timely responses.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks including repairing/replacing heating and air conditioning systems; painting and caulking as needed.
• Use standard hand tools and organize tools/equipment safely.
• Train others in engineering skills and construction trades when required.
• Serve as point of contact for maintenance concerns in the absence of the Chief Maintenance Engineer.
