Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a full-time Loss Prevention Officer to ensure the safety of guests and staff and to enforce hotel policies. You will prepare incident reports and respond to safety concerns, with duties including patrols and documenting conditions.

Ideal candidates have a clean background, CPR/TIPS certification (or willingness to obtain), and the ability to stay calm under pressure while guiding guests and colleagues through tense situations.

Qualifications

• Background check with no serious criminal record.
• Valid TIPS Alcohol Certification upon hire.
• CPR Certification preferred.
• Verbal communication clearly, professionally and diplomatically is required.
• Ability to handle tense situations and gain cooperation calmly.
• Hotel/resort experience preferred.
• Prior security/loss prevention experience strongly preferred.
• Able to move throughout the resort inside and outside.
• Flexible schedule including day, evening, overnight shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Act and perform assigned tasks as an extension of the General Manager.
• Observe and report on all assignments in writing.
• Use radio equipment and keep accurate records. Proper telephone etiquette.
• Patrol the hotel property and report unsafe conditions.
• Be Red Cross certified in first aid and CPR and maintain knowledge of fire procedures.
• Protect hotel, guest and employee property; know emergency procedures.
• Accept and complete assigned tasks, bike, pool chemical follow-up.
• Enforce hotel policies and procedures.
• Maintain professional attitude and attend related hotel classes.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
• Respond to customer-service related tasks as needed.
