Job summary

Choice Hotels International, Inc. is hiring a Cook I to deliver cost-effective food preparation and plating that exceed guest expectations. You will follow recipes, prepare sauces and entrees, and ensure proper portioning and plate presentation under the guidance of the Chef.

As a Cook I, you will operate kitchen equipment safely, maintain clean work areas, and support the team to meet daily room service and dining demands across our portfolio of hotels. Flexibility and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; culinary degree preferred.
• 1 year cooking experience; hotel experience preferred.
• Able to read and understand basic cooking directions.
• Follow standardized recipes and plate presentation.
• Knowledge of food/beverage preparations and service standards.
• Maintain table settings and service ware knowledge.
• Excellent attention to detail and multitasking.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team spirit and flexibility in working hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and garnish all food orders per menu specs.
• Prepare sauces, soups, and hot entrees under Chef guidance.
• Portion food into standard portions and present attractively.
• Ensure proper storage, cleanliness, and equipment safety.
• Coordinate with servers to deliver meals to guests.
• Assist in controlling food costs and waste per SOP.
