Job summary

Omni Charlotte Hotel is seeking a dedicated Steward/Dishwasher to maintain high cleanliness standards in our busy kitchen. You will sort, wash, and polish wares, keep equipment sanitary, and assist cooks and servers with the right tools for guests' dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Must provide strong customer service orientation.

• Food Handlers certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Physical strength to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Sort soiled wares for dish or pot machine; wash and store properly.
• Detarnish/polish silver for proper appearance.
• Clean kettles, skillets, pots and pans promptly.
• Transport and clean utensils for cooks and servers.
• Maintain clean kitchen work areas and equipment.
• Sweep and mop floors; wash worktables and walls.
• Handle trash and garbage; sanitize containers.
• Steam-clean or hose garbage cans; ensure proper storage.
• Wash dishes by hand or in machine; process glasses twice.
• Rotate and store stock; organize clean utensils.
• Clean and sanitize all kitchen areas and equipment.
• Report inventory and cleaning chemicals to supervisor.
• Follow safety guidelines for chemicals and storage.
• Report broken equipment; assist kitchen staff as needed.
• Assist Stewarding Supervisor with inventories of chinaware.
• Attend required department meetings and trainings.
• Complete other duties assigned by management.
