Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Bothell is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee housekeeping in assigned sections and stand in for the Housekeeping Manager when needed.

You will inspect Room Attendants, manage daily assignments, maintain records, supervise carts and linen, and mentor staff while ensuring guest satisfaction and adherence to standards. The role involves active pager/radio use and potential room cleaning during busy periods.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required. College course work in related field helpful.
• Two to three years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Effective verbal and written communication with employees and guests.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Room Attendant’s work performance within assigned section on a daily basis to ensure standards and productivity levels are met.
• In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Manager, inspect VIP rooms and report availability to Front Office.
• Oversee closing of floors, ensuring carts are clean and restocked.
• Ensure records of daily assignments are completed, signed off, and turned in on time.
• Maintain key control.
• Handle items for Lost and Found according to standards.
• Monitor cleanliness and orderliness of carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways and landings.
• Oversee daily assignment of duties, ensuring staff carry a work assignment.
• Carry an active pager/radio to communicate with Front Office/Engineering.
• Report progress of out-of-order rooms to Guest Services Manager per standards.
• Initiate and follow through on work orders for repairs with Engineering.
• Assist with training of Housekeeping staff.
• May be required to clean rooms as needed.
• Ensure completion of cleaning projects biannually.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
