Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Salem, OR seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily housekeeping operations at Residence Inn Salem. You will supervise Room Attendants, ensure cleaning standards, and support Front Office coordination to maintain guest satisfaction.

The role requires standing for long periods, prior supervisory experience preferred, and strong communication skills to manage staff and guest expectations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Effective communication with staff and guests, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Room Attendant’s work performance within assigned section daily to ensure standards and productivity.
• In absence of Housekeeping Manager, inspect VIP rooms and report availability to Front Office.
• Oversee closing of floors and restock of attendants' carts.
• Maintain records of daily assignments and submit on time.
• Maintain key control and secure lost and found items.
• Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets and stairways.
• Assign duties for Room Attendants and House Attendants.
• Carry pager/radio to maintain contact with Front Office/Engineering.
• Report progress of out-of-order rooms to Guest Services Manager.
• Initiate work orders for repairs and coordinate with Engineering until completion.
• Assist with training of Housekeeping staff.
• May be required to clean rooms as needed.
• Complete cleaning projects biannually and ensure guest satisfaction.
