Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a hands-on Hotel General Manager for an award-winning property in Northern Michigan. You will lead daily operations, drive revenue, and ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hotel leadership experience (AGM or GM role preferred).
• Strong business acumen and knowledge of P&L, labor control, and guest satisfaction metrics.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire teams across all departments.
• Tech-savvy with experience using hotel management systems and reporting tools.
• A proactive problem-solver who remains calm under pressure.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Champion a welcoming guest experience from check-in to check-out.
• Oversee daily operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and F&B.
• Build, lead, and develop a strong hotel team with clear expectations and accountability.
• Drive revenue growth through active involvement in sales strategy and yield management.
• Manage financial performance to hit (and exceed) goals.
• Conduct regular property inspections, audits, and operational evaluations.
• Partner with the sales team to attract group business and extended stays.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, HR, and operational standards.
