Job summary

Best Western Sedona is seeking a Lead Engineer to oversee facilities operations, preventive maintenance, room renovations, HVAC and equipment upkeep. You will manage maintenance staff, schedule repairs, and supervise budgeting while ensuring safety standards and asset longevity.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication in English with guests, colleagues and management.
• Attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and follow-through with minimal supervision.
• 4+ years of maintenance/engineering experience in electrical, plumbing and carpentry repair.
• Certification in one of A/C/refrigeration, Electrical, Carpentry or building repairs preferred.
• Punctuality and reliable attendance.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Ability to read P&L to maintain budgeted guidelines.
• Experience with long-term capital budgeting and asset management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all property repairs and projects.
• Maintain Preventive Maintenance Program under guidance of GM.
• Oversee electrical repairs, lamps and small appliances.
• Maintain Life Safety systems including fire alarms, sprinklers, hoses, smoke detectors and fire doors.
• Schedule carpentry repairs such as doors, windows and banisters.
• Oversee maintenance of boilers, pumps, chillers, valves, motors and related equipment.
• Monitor elevator maintenance schedule.
• Perform boiler preventative maintenance and routine checks.
• Ensure functionality of HVAC systems and parts inventory.
• Schedule staff to respond to maintenance requests from guests.
• Follow OSHA safety requirements and hotel policy; complete training.
• Develop and manage Maintenance team performance.
