Job summary

Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel Old Town is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support preventive maintenance, handle guest repair requests, and maintain inventories. The role combines independent work with team coordination to keep facilities in top condition and safety standards met.

You will troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems, respond to requests promptly, and collaborate with vendors as needed for external support.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel or property maintenance
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing
• Able to read technical manuals or schematics
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work weekends/holidays

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform repairs in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical systems
• Respond quickly and professionally to guest maintenance requests and internal work orders
• Conduct daily property walk-throughs and complete duty round checklists
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal operation of equipment and building systems
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of maintenance spaces and affected guest/public areas during repairs
• Install, maintain, and repair appliances, light fixtures, door hardware, and more
• Check and maintain safety systems (fire alarms, emergency lighting, ventilation)
• Support outdoor upkeep: trash areas and minor landscaping tasks
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors for external support
• Communicate with the Director of Engineering and General Manager regarding major repairs or safety concerns
