Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Key West property. You will oversee day-to-day operations of the engineering department and act in the Director's absence, handling administrative, financial and operational aspects of engineering.

You will lead and train staff, manage preventive maintenance, ensure ADA compliance and participate in safety committees, energy programs, and vendor contracts. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on technical skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or lead mechanic experience in hospitality or related field.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; stationary engineer license if required by local code.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and assets in safe repair state.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws.
• Supervise and train Engineering staff in customer service and SOPs.
• Create and manage engineering staff schedules.
• Assist in developing and adhering to annual departmental budget.
• Assist in developing financial forecasts and participate in monthly profit/loss reviews.
• Implement preventative maintenance programs for hotel equipment.
• Ensure life safety systems are inspected and certified to Highgate standards.
• Participate in energy conservation programs and safety initiatives.
• Address guest and meeting planner feedback to resolve issues promptly.
