Highgate Hotels, LP in Los Angeles is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the property's engineering department. You will assume administrative, financial and operating responsibilities in the director's absence.

This role requires supervising staff, developing budgets and preventive maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with ADA and safety standards, coordinating with vendors, and supporting energy conservation initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory or lead mechanic experience in a hotel or related field OR a technical certificate with at least 1 year supervisory/lead experience
• Stationary engineer's license if required by local code
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Long hours sometimes required

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and assets in safe repair state
• Ensure hotel compliance with local, state and federal laws
• Supervise and train Engineering staff in Customer Service, SOPs and Loss Prevention
• Create and post Engineering staff schedules
• Create and adhere to annual department budget
• Develop financial forecasts and participate in monthly profit/loss reviews
• Create and implement preventative maintenance program for hotel equipment
• Ensure safety equipment and systems are inspected and certified per Highgate standards
• Participate in energy conservation programs
• Review guest and meeting planner feedback and address issues promptly
• Ensure ADA compliance
• Assist with vendor contracts managed by engineering
• Handle room maintenance requests promptly
• Respond to alarms and determine emergency status
• Assist with special projects and renovations
• Support and participate in Highgate Hotel programs
• Lead or participate in Safety Committee
