Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts in Columbus, OH, is seeking an Engineering Leader to join the Westin Great Southern Columbus team. The role focuses on maintaining high engineering standards, safety, and guest satisfaction in a busy hotel environment.

You will interview, hire, train, and coach staff; troubleshoot HVAC/plumbing and other systems; perform preventative maintenance; coordinate service contracts; and support capital planning and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of experience managing others in a hotel engineering setting.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Team player who will pitch-in to help coworkers and handle guests respectfully.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, and address disciplinary actions.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems (HVAC, plumbing) and other hotel equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis.
• Respond courteously to guest questions, complaints, and requests to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Communicate maintenance needs to hotel department heads and ensure timely responses.
• Service the hotel's pool: adjust chemicals, clean filters, and maintain logs.
• Maintain exterior and curb appeal (snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).
• Coordinate service contracts and safety programs; participate in Crescent’s standards.
• Assist General Manager with annual Capital Plan development.
• Support Crescent’s Safety Plan and energy improvement initiatives.
• Ensure room care programs and engineering department minimum standards.
• Communicate clearly to staff; comply with attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
