Job summary

Highgate Hotels, LP is seeking a Chief Engineer for Residence Inn Lynnwood, WA. The role oversees day-to-day engineering operations, budgeting and safety compliance while leading engineering staff and coordinating with other departments.

The position emphasizes preventative maintenance, life-safety inspections and energy programs, with long hours and a strong emphasis on Guest and team service excellence.

Qualifications

• Progressive facilities management experience in hotel or related field; 3 years or 2-year college +1 year of management experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Stationary Engineer's license if required by local code.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general maintenance skills required.
• Long hours sometimes required; ability to lift up to 100 pounds as needed.
• Strong communication, multitasking and guest-facing service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property and assets.
• Ensure hotel compliance with laws and safety standards.
• Supervise and train Engineering staff in service and SOPs.
• Create staff schedules and manage departmental budget.
• Participate in monthly profit/loss reviews and forecasts.
• Maintain preventative maintenance programs for hotel equipment.
• Inspect and certify life safety equipment per Highgate standards.
• Assist with vendor contracts and capital projects.
