Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Lynnwood, WA is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering division and oversee day-to-day operations, budgeting, and staff supervision. In the Director's absence, the assistant assumes administrative and financial duties related to engineering.

The role requires developing maintenance plans, ensuring compliance with laws, and guiding the engineering team to deliver safe, efficient hotel operations. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or related field or a 2-year college degree with 1 year of related management experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets in a safe state of repair.
• Ensure the hotel is in compliance with all local, state and federal laws.
• Supervise and train Engineering staff in customer service, SOPs and loss prevention.
• Create and post Engineering staff schedules.
• Adhere to annual department budget and assist with financial forecasts.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for hotel equipment.
• Ensure safety equipment is inspected and compliant with standards.
• Participate in energy conservation programs and safety committees.
• Handle guest/engineer issue follow-ups and ADA compliance.
