Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Springfield, VA seeks a Chief Engineer to manage day-to-day operations of the engineering division and act in the Director's absence on administrative, financial, and operational aspects of the hotel’s engineering. The role focuses on maintenance, safety, and cost control to support service quality.

Responsibilities include developing plans for property upkeep, supervising engineering staff, ensuring compliance with laws, and participating in energy conservation programs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of facilities management experience in a hotel or related field.
• A 2-year college degree and 1 year of related management experience acceptable.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Stationary Engineer’s license if required by local code.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets in safe repair state.
• Ensure hotel compliance with local, state and federal laws.
• Supervise and train Engineering staff in customer service, SOPs and loss prevention.
• Create and adhere to annual department budget and assist with forecasts.
