Job summary

Virgin-Hotel seeks a Director of Engineering to lead and inspire the maintenance team, ensuring hotel facilities are safe, efficient, and guest-ready. The role requires deep knowledge of building systems, operational leadership, and collaboration with vendors and corporate teams.

Responsibilities include budget planning, project oversight, safety inspections, and driving Virgin service standards across the property. This is a full-time on-site leadership position at our Texas location.

Qualifications

• 6 years or more of progressive hotel or building management experience.
• Experience with opening hotels or pre-opening activities preferred.
• Service/guest-focused leadership with strong communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver exceptional service.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Clear, concise written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and negotiate revisions with vendors, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Plan, organize, and direct maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates and cost tracking reports.
• Inspect projects for compliance with building and safety codes.
• Coordinate with Home Office Team on standards and procedures.
• Coach and counsel staff to Virgin service standards.
