Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts seeks a Chief Engineer at Kimpton Sylvan Hotel in Atlanta to oversee preventive maintenance, life safety systems, and facility operations. You will manage capital projects, supervise engineering staff, and ensure compliance with brand standards and local codes.

Qualifications

• Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in building trades such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience at a comparable location; HEI Chief Engineers are working chiefs.
• Hotel experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of hotel operations, marketing plans, security, safety programs, and budget forecasting.
• Skilled in HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywalling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
• ADA related physical demands; ability to lead and develop staff; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the implementation of property maintenance and repairs, monitor life safety systems and utilities.
• Administer department in compliance with corporate standards and local codes.
• Manage engineering-related capital projects and preventive maintenance programs.
• Maintain records for Budget, PM Programs, Capital Projects and inspections.
• Ensure safe, clean, and energy-efficient Engineering Spaces; daily tours of hotel complex to identify needs.
