Job summary

Hyatt Regency Jersey City seeks an Assistant Controller to oversee financial activities of the hotel, safeguard assets, and prepare GAAP-compliant reports.

The role includes night audit support, reconciliations, posting city ledger payments, and processing supplier invoices to ensure timely payments. A strong hospitality accounting background is preferred and opportunity for growth is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
• Accounting and hotel experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and numerical skills; ability to compile facts and figures.

Responsibilities

• Assist Controller in directing financial activities of the hotel, safeguarding assets and preparing GAAP-compliant reports.
• Sort and verify Night Audit work, including reconciliation of city ledger and banquets.
• Process and pay invoices, reconcile ledgers, and maintain documentation for audits.
• Post city ledger payments and reconcile discrepancies; monitor vendor statements.
