This short-term program prepares MITs for potential promotion to department manager within 3–5 months based on performance and learning progress during the Management Training Program.

The role emphasizes strong departmental operation, customer service excellence, inventory control, and adherence to safety and quality standards, with DOE salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2 years of supervisory experience in the hot deli department or equivalent.
• Bilingual in English/Mandarin, English/Cantonese, or English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to work assigned schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Currently possess or have the ability to possess a Food Handler’s certificate.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation of the Hot Deli department, from product preparation to inventory control and display.
• Ensure excellent customer service and address issues with action plans.
• Drive sales and manage costs to meet financial targets.
• Use company systems to track sales, inventory and perform monthly counts.
• Supervise and mentor team members and coordinate staffing with HR.
