Job summary

99 Ranch Market is seeking a Management in Training (MIT) for our Grocery Department Manager track in the United States. This short-term program provides hands-on assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion to a store's Grocery Department Manager, with progression possible in roughly 3–5 months depending on experience and performance.

Qualifications

• 1 year of supervisory experience in the grocery department or equivalent is required.
• Ability to work assigned schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Currently possess or have the ability to possess a Food Handler’s certificate.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation of the Grocery department and manage product display and inventory.
• Ensure excellent customer service and address issues promptly.
• Drive department sales, monitor costs, and meet financial targets.
• Track sales and inventory using store systems and conduct monthly counts.
• Supervise and mentor staff, plan shifts, and coordinate with HR for staffing decisions.
• Support Omni channel services and related marketing activities.
• Order and receive products, ensure quality and accurate pricing.
• Stock and display products with FIFO methods and signage clarity.
• Lead cashier operations and handle returns per policy.
• Ensure compliance, loss prevention, and reporting.
• Maintain safe and sanitary work environments in accordance with regulations.
• Maintain equipment, monitor temperatures, and coordinate maintenance.
• Manage product expirations and timely replenishment.
• Plan promotions and demos and promote sales initiatives.
