Job summary

French Lick Resort is seeking a guest-focused host/hostess to assist with seating guests, coordinating coat check, and handling reservations in a courteous, professional manner. You will stay informed about resort services and ensure the dining area and coatroom are well-maintained.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least one year of restaurant experience, and a strong commitment to hospitality, teamwork, and flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate timely seating of guests.
• Hangs guests’ coats.
• Takes reservations in person or by phone with professional language.
• Answer phones and respond to guest questions politely.
• Remain knowledgeable about resort services and amenities.
• Maintain coatroom and podium cleanliness and a neat uniform.
• Input guest data into Micros system.
• Assist in other Food & Beverage departments as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested by Management.

What you will be doing

• Helps plan and coordinate timely seating of guests.
• Hangs guests’ coats.
• Takes reservations in person and over the phone, using professional language at all times.
• Answers telephones, responding to guests’ questions in a professional manner.
• Remain knowledgeable about resort services and amenities.
• Maintains cleanliness of coatroom and podium areas.
• Maintains perfectly clean uniform.
• Cleans and re-sets tables as needed.
• Inputs data into Micros system.
• May create the player accounts within our system and issues the player cards in conjunction with the properties loyalty program.
• Makes change while keeping an accurate and secure bank.
• Make copies of all paperwork and checks daily
• Assists in other Food and Beverage departments as needed.
• Performs other duties as reasonably requested by Management.

Requirements

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have one-year restaurant experience.
