Job summary

The Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood invites applications for a Part-time Host/Greeter to deliver prompt, friendly service and help create memorable dining experiences. You will greet guests, manage seating, share menus, and coordinate with servers to ensure outstanding guest satisfaction.

Flexibility across shifts and weekends is required, and prior experience in luxury hotels, fine dining, or OpenTable is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or a minimum of 1 year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Luxury hotel/fine dining experience preferred.
• High volume, fast-paced work environment experience preferred.
• Aloha experience is a plus.
• Open Table experience is a plus.
• Food Handlers card is required.
• Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) Certification is a plus.
• Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification is a plus.
• Proficient in English- verbal and written.
• Must have flexible work availability- all shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet arriving guests and determine reservation or place guests on waiting list, when applicable.
• Escort guests to their assigned table or direct them to designated waiting areas.
• Present guests with menus, communicate server name, relay any relevant information, and remove any additional place settings.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations, and respond to inquiries and requests.
• Engage with guests to ensure they are satisfied with food and overall service.
• Must be able to cross-train in other F&B related areas.
• Displays a high level of professional integrity and ethical conduct.
• Maintain calmness and composure under high levels of pressure.
• Adapt to frequent change, fast paced environment, delays, or unexpected events.
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and uses time efficiently and effectively.
• Displays outstanding attendance.

Job Summary
