Job summary

Opal Collection is seeking a Host/Hostess to warmly greet guests, manage reservations, and seat guests efficiently. You will help maintain a smooth dining flow, track waiting lists, and communicate with servers to optimize table availability.

The role emphasizes excellent communication, courteous service, and adherence to restaurant standards. A positive attitude and professional appearance are required, with full-time hours and on-site work expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in guest-facing roles preferred.
• Strong communication and telephone skills are essential.
• Ability to take accurate messages and manage guest interactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly and inviting manner.
• Take restaurant reservations using the reservation system.
• Seat guests and manage waiting lists with accurate wait times.
• Communicate with staff and supervisors about availability of tables.
• Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.
• Adhere to company policies and wear the provided uniform.

Responsibilities:

• Greeting guests in a friendly and inviting manner
• Take reservations with the restaurant reservation system
• Engaging in friendly conversation as you seat guests in a timely fashion
• Managing restaurant waiting list during high volume to accurately set waiting time quotes for guests
• Manage inventory of tables available
• Always sincerely thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return
• Other reasonable duties as assigned
• Communicate with wait staff and supervisors regarding availability of tables
• Communicate with supervisor any complaints or compliments
• Adhere to the rules and regulations of the company as defined in the employee handbook
• Always wear appropriate uniform provided by company policy

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED a plus but not required
• Previous experience a plus
• Must have courteous phone skills and the ability to take accurate messages
