Wentworth by the Sea Marina in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Host/Hostess to warmly greet guests and manage seating for the restaurant. You will take reservations, seat guests in a timely manner, and maintain a smooth flow of tables during busy periods.

The role emphasizes friendly communication with guests and collaboration with wait staff, supervisors, and the kitchen to ensure a positive dining experience. A neat uniform and professional phone etiquette are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in host/hostess role is a plus.
• Courteous phone skills and the ability to take accurate messages are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly and inviting manner.
• Take reservations using the restaurant reservation system.
• Seat guests promptly and engage in friendly conversation.
• Manage restaurant waiting list during high volume and provide accurate wait times.
• Manage inventory of available tables.
• Thank guests and invite them to return.
• Communicate with wait staff and supervisors regarding table availability and guest feedback.
• Adhere to company policies and wear the provided uniform.
• Other reasonable duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests in a friendly and inviting manner
• Take reservations with the restaurant reservation system
• Engaging in friendly conversation as you seat guests in a timely fashion
• Managing restaurant waiting list during high volume to accurately set waiting time quotes for guests
• Manage inventory of tables available
• Always sincerely thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return
• Other reasonable duties as assigned
• Communicate with wait staff and supervisors regarding availability of tables
• Communicate with supervisor any complaints or compliments
• Adhere to the rules and regulations of the company as defined in the employee handbook
• Always wear appropriate uniform provided by company policy
