United Way of Greenville County is seeking a friendly dining room host to facilitate seating, greet guests, and inform them of server assignments. The role balances seating flow across service stations and ensures smooth guest experiences.

No prior foodservice experience is required; strong communication and teamwork are essential to help guests and colleagues alike.

Qualifications

• Some high school required; ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Must be able to speak and understand the primary languages of guests.
• Basic math skills for cash handling.

POSITION SUMMARY:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Facilitates dining room operation, adjusting patron seating flow to balance customers among the various service stations. Graciously greets guests upon arrival, escorts them to their table, provides menus and informs guests of their assigned server’s name. Manages special seating requests consistent with table availability and other matters affecting sandwich makers, as appropriate. Responsible for accurately handling guest check payment and cash transactions as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Some high school. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the work location. Must be able to speak and understand the primary languages of the guests who typically visit the work location. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.

Experience:

• No previous foodservice experience is needed, though it is helpful. Must possess good communication skills and be able to work with others. Must exhibit the ability to make decisions and solve problems rapidly and fairly. Must be sensitive to the needs of customers.
