United Way of Greenville County is seeking a friendly host to support dining room operations. You will greet guests upon arrival, escort them to their tables, provide menus, and help balance seating flow across service stations to keep lines moving and guests satisfied.
No prior foodservice experience is required, but strong communication and teamwork are essential. You will handle guest checks and cash transactions as needed and contribute to a welcoming, community-focused dining environment.

Facilitates dining room operation, adjusting patron seating flow to balance customers among the various service stations. Graciously greets guests upon arrival, escorts them to their table, provides menus and informs guests of their assigned server’s name. Manages special seating requests consistent with table availability and other matters affecting sandwich makers, as appropriate. Responsible for accurately handling guest check payment and cash transactions as required.
Education:
Some high school. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the work location. Must be able to speak and understand the primary languages of the guests who typically visit the work location. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
Experience:
No previous foodservice experience is needed, though it is helpful. Must possess good communication skills and be able to work with others. Must exhibit the ability to make decisions and solve problems rapidly and fairly. Must be sensitive to the needs of customers.
