Job summary

Role Description

The Host role is a full-time, on-site position based in Greater Cleveland at Westsiders Bar and Restaurant. The host greets guests warmly upon arrival, manages reservations and walk-ins, and coordinates seating to optimize flow and guest satisfaction. This role includes answering phones, providing accurate wait-time estimates, and maintaining a clean, organized entry and waiting area. The host works closely with the serving and bar teams to support smooth service, communicates guest needs or special occasions, and assists with menus and guest inquiries. Additional responsibilities may include basic guest check-in procedures for events and helping with closing or opening duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication skills for greeting guests, managing reservations, and coordinating with team members.
• Customer Service skills to provide a welcoming atmosphere, handle guest concerns professionally, and enhance the overall dining experience.
• Ability to participate in and support Training, including learning hosting procedures, safety standards, and service expectations.
• Familiarity with Food & Beverage environments, including basic menu knowledge and understanding of restaurant operations.
• Sales awareness to positively present specials, events, and offerings that encourage repeat visits.
• Reliable time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle high-volume periods calmly and efficiently.
• Comfort using reservation or POS systems; prior host or restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and ability to stand for extended periods.
